Yes, Trauma and baggage is never an excuse, but it was the justification for why he was the way he was.. yes what he did was wrong, but you have to realize trauma can blindside people from what is wrong and right.. he realizes it, and takes accountability.. for his actions.
In the end, it all came down to how Annette was as a character, and the complex and forgiving response she had matched. It wasn’t easy for her to forgive, and I doubt she fully forgives, imo both characters are intricate and hard to understand from a “normal” persons view..
I wish I could like your comment because this is right. He never justifies his actions with “I was abused and traumatized” he just did them. After figuring out he was wrong and how it made her, he reflected on everything about himself. She also had a rude awakening to her relationship with him and how she never dug deeper because she was scared. She knew he went through something horrible but didn’t have the guts to actually see him as he truly was with the trauma she had. She choose to be naive to the peoples struggles and his struggles and now she had to come to terms with that naivety. I love this webtoon so much it’s beautiful.
