Why bother making these manga and not gonna finish them?

Sometimes they have health issues or things have happened in their life. Or the translator didn't finish uploading the manga.

this pretty recently went from a free version (aka trial period) to a paid version of the manga which is usually a good sign (the paid version is marked as ongoing on the JP site)

plus I'd also like to point out this was originally part of a Novel adapt Anthology to promote a few authors novels so it originally a short manga to begin.
