He’s being extremely overprotective but it’s due to a misunderstanding, he wasn’t letting her leave after he caught her coughing up blood due to her drinking the poison resistance medicine made for her. I think me and the original commenter may simply have differences in opinions though.

It’s definitely not my favorite but I don’t think it’s flat out disrespectful towards her because they’re all worried and think it’s in her best interest. Like someone else said it’s for comedic effect more than anything. I think you should give it a chance and if you dislike the dynamics in it drop it.
