I think Kael's been expressing that he simply wants to focus on their relationship now rather than focus on Diana. Taking her title away is great and all, but Kael doesn't want Diana in the picture anymore in his and Hess relationship so trying to take away her title might just permanently make her a bigger deal in their relationship for Hess.
Plus, indifference is more painful than hatred. Diana is an attention seeker, not giving her any attention is the best method to deal with her self centered nature. And she's not that evil, just has a chosen one syndrome aka Fl syndrome.
