"typical toxic bl plots" = something id label a story where there is constant rape, justification of something that isnt justified, no character development, everyone gets away with everything, no consequences, 2 small chapters of self pity then straight back to their Stockholm syndrome relationship. this story has shown genuine complexity, thought id clarify that for you!

do you fathom what development even entails? this is genuinely well written, i dont see anywhere in my comment where i justified the humiliation, if you read my second message i explained what i meant! if this is toxic beyond repair to you then you must be reading some pretty good shit, link me to some good manhwas please!

Might I remind you this exactly what it is. His character arc hasn't even began. He did not yet reflect on everything he did to Yeongwoon. People are justifying his debauchery life as well as the manhwa trying to make look like it isn't a big deal bcuz he was "broken"
He still has no character development apart from going hate sex to love-hate sex. Self-pity was all that was shown here. And consequences? Where are they? I don't see it. Are they lost? Bcuz Yeongwoon still seems so in love with him after everything he put him through and more. Not to mention, he is now the mirror of his own brother who took everything from Yeongwoon. Now wouldn't that be called Stockholm Syndrome, medically speaking?

"might i remind you this exactly what it is" no not really, we are currently in the MIDDLE of the character development arc, i dont see much of the self pity as you seem to be, im seeing them delving into a topic, which so far is looking like it will be good. which is why i said i hope itll keep going this way.
to call this Stockholm syndrome is a bit insane to me, cant be medically spoken for at all, please do your research on what this term even means...
and i just said i didnt justify all the humiliation he put yeongwoo through, so why are you responding to my comment specifically? i was referring to toxic bl tropes not seo-in's character, i even clarified that in a second message. in my opinion he can become better, try harder, actually work on everything he has done, he is not beyond reform, if only the author lets it turn out this way.

i know you weren't refering to my comment through this but just for a little clarification my intention was never to justify any ill actions taken by seo in at all, through this comment I just wanted to shed lights on how every thing that has happened yet in this story coincides with the steps taken by both the characters also i personally don't see seo in trying to gain "self pity" through his inner monologue but more like realising what happened wrong within himself which lead him to where he is rn and how his own deliberate mistakes took him further to the one person who he was able to bond with

i think they mainly focused on my "typical toxic bl plots" phrase lol. i don't think seo-in is very typical though, so he doesn't fit into what i deem "typical toxic bl plots", this is too tame for me to consider it a contender. seo-in is one of the few problematic characters I've read about that has enough complexity to him for me to not hate him for all the things that make him bad, doesnt mean i justify everything he does, just means i know he has a potential for development. (if they fuck this up i'm going to be disappointed <3) this amount of toxicity is the most im able to handle because i believe that they can be redeemed, but once you reach a certain point i don't think redemption is possible.. (i dont think i need to explain what woule count as unredeemable) I'm emotionally weak, fiction or not, I'm the kind to cry over a well written fictional story, and i really can't read or watch imagery that is overly descriptive/detailed trauma :')
it's so rare to see a bl (esp a Korean bl manhwa) with actual good character writing that explains the complexity of the story which again isn't just there for a meager shock factor to entice and lure people in but actually corroborates to the actions of those characters with such griefs
