This is just a mini rant because I genuinely enjoy the story overall. But I absolutely detest the killing of innocent animals for fun, especially when it’s not about survival. I really struggled with the two or three chapters that focused on the Hunt—it felt like both the author and the artist went too deep into it, with way too much graphic detail.

It was upsetting to see so many animals, just trying to survive in their own home, suddenly attacked by outsiders for sport. It reminded me a lot of the male lead’s backstory—but in his case, we’re expected to feel sorry for him because he’s human. Meanwhile, the animals, whose home was invaded and who were brutally slaughtered? Oh, they’re just animals—so I guess that makes it okay? I really hate that logic.

That part of the story is the only one I’ve felt truly disconnected from. Otherwise, I’m having a great time reading it and I’m especially looking forward to the downfall of a lot of the antagonists.

hey not to kill your passion but hunting happens irl too. Hunts only ever happen during mating season due to the rising populations of animals which can be very bad for the environment. For example it’s illegal to kill certain animals until certain seasons because they WILL overpopulate due to fast mating and cause a lowering population in other animals. Humans are apex predators, and even though i do agree we have stolen some of their land it is our job to keep the food chain stable. We were literally put on this earth for balance
