Bc they aren't really romantically involved tbh. MC's ex seems to have loved the thrill and sex he gets from that blondie nothing more. And blondie seems to think of MC's ex to be his as if they share a great bond that could transcend romantic love meanwhile they are just fuckbuddies. They are both just selfish people taking what they want and couldn't care any less about others who get hurt bc of their mess.
