If you backread, you'd realize the top strongly doesn't want his partner to meet his family. He still hates his brother too but time made it a little bit bearable for him that he now had enough courage to look at him. He hates his family and said so many times he doesn't want to see them. He only HAD to see them when he HAS to as promised or compromised. Even then, he will never choose to meet with them. I understand the bottom's perspective of wanting to meet the family of his partner but to actually insist on it and feel awkward after this whole fiasco... It just doesn't sit right with me.
