Couldn't have worded it better! I keep reminding myself that both are victims of their father and that, rather than uniting as brothers going through the same misery, they ended up hating each other instead. But at the same time, when things went down, ML was a high school student, but his brother was already in college and (as far as I can remember) almost graduating, too. He was old enough to know better than to do what he did to his younger brother. So just because of that I still feel it's unfair. I'm petty! I don't like him!
However, I do appreciate the fact that AS the older brother AND someone taking accountability... he's getting better and understands why his brother can't forgive him and keeps him at arms' length. I was somewhat pleased to know he hasn't seen his brother's wife since nor tried to meet the niece... it just adds a lot to his character.
Maybe by the time ML and MC have a baby of their own things will change...
