Yeah cliche.

Sigh. As this moves along I should not have had high expectations but alas we are going the cliche of cliche routes I was genuinely hoping against. At this point I feel I am to blame for thinking things would progress any other way than the typical chauvinism of a self absorbed top character and a meek bottom character who enables objectified behavior. I genuinely do not understand why authors write in such binary in this genre. I don’t know if EVERY single female writer cannot comprehend any other dynamic but it’s so invasive within the genre and their lived experience? I’m genuinely unsure if BL can exist without misogyny even when women are not the genre’s focal point. I’m not saying the top is a monster for his treatment, but I genuinely wonder do female writers think men are truly incapable of not exhibiting violence or anger at all turns in their love language? And especially given the author’s former project “Second Piatto”. This is disappointing, to attach themselves to a novel of this caliber to edit and draw out when I’m sure there are much better out there that aren’t your C grade churned out wattpad fanfic.
