Seeing this makes me feel better. I wrote some books and I worried because they don't have and aren't about that gay panic, people think they aren't good LGBT books. Like, everyone is writing coming out/coming to terms with being gay or bi stories and I'm just over here writing about two guys building a relationship and dealing with other personal issues, without all that stuff. ┑( ̄Д ̄)┍ Then again, someone did say one of my books is like yaoi, so maybe I shouldn't be so happy to use this comment on a yaoi manga to make myself feel better.... ㄟ(ツ)ㄏ

I think it's important to have stuff about coming out for people who may be going through something similar and can empathize with that, but it's also important to have stuff that's not about that at all--and I guess show the "it gets better" side of things? How LGBT people are as normal as anyone else and are allowed to have love stories/personal development that's not totally focused on their sexuality... how the world can and should be kind. That's my take at least, as an asexual. Best of luck with your books, I'm sure they're great!! :)
I feel like there are more and more BL coming out where the men just fall in love and it's treated as something /normal/, no gay panic, just calm acceptance--and it's so lovely and I want more of that.
(This isn't to say that the panic route is bad, but it's nice to have variety, and see some more positivity I guess).
