gooning aside, it’s getting increasingly obvious that the farm residents are seen as lesser than human because of their genetic difference… Mr. A from observation at first capitalized on the produce that came with “taking care” of the farm residents but as time passed it showed that he accumulated feelings of guilt and disgust towards himself and his realizations that these farm residents, beyond their animalistic features, are still human at their core. The brutality of capitalism and its tendency to exploit the farm residents for profit is reminiscent of companies using underpaid and overexploited communities usually in foreign countries to accumulate their resources while giving them less rights than what a human being is entitled to. Mr K and that father cow are testaments to the cruelty of capitalism and how it essentially dehumanizes them into mere resources for profit and gain. The backstories given to us isn’t just to add a few details for character to viewer connection but to show that beyond their title as farm cattle, they still experience baseline human emotions. Grief, separation, anxiety, and familial connections are all typical aspects of humans but are constantly reduced by the characters such as the agent and doctor.
