I honestly think either way (whether you choose to let go or keep fighting) it's ok. There's really no right answer. In this fictional setting, since the MC talk to Udon, he likely made the recommendation based on what Udon wanted. IRL, I think all that matters is the intention of wanting to do what you think is best for your beloved pet.
if my cats are suffering & hurting so much & there is no other cure or help to ease the pain. i'll let go of my cats & that guilt & misery that comes along after letting them go, i will have to carry until the day i meet them again & when that time comes, I will beg for forgiveness & tell them i missed & still love them & ask them to accept me again as their mom.
