I can’t remember if they mentioned this part of the story by chapter 94 so it might be spoilers for you but he’s at least a guy who works with the MC. also I might be wrong on some points but the general idea is right
remember the flashback arc with the detective? it went like, “MC is in the area as a teacher and found a group of people experimenting on kids to create a superhuman? a different kind of human with higher mana levels? idk what was the goal but they were kidnapping them to create a new human. Arte (and the detective’s assistant) are both results of that group’s experiments and MC took arte under his wing
arte was heathcliff’s student when he took on the identity of james moriarty. arte’s sister got kidnapped for a robot experiment that involved putting human souls in machines to make war weapons. arte chased after his sister and moriarty tried to save both of them but they died. moriarty transferred arte’s soul into one of the humanoids and destroyed the rest. the humanoid that contain’s arte’s soul is now his sidekick arfa
