in the novel he is wayyy more likable and for you who likes hyunsung, here is some things that might make you want to read the novel^-^:

in the second half the love interests fade a little, specially hayan, and after a certain point it becomes something like "regressor trauma bonding and psychological torture manual" because my boy hyunsung will break so much, i think that after the middle of the second half he was crying most of the chapters, and in the end he even attempts suicide multiple times out of dependency(? wayy deeper than this but i shouldn't spoil more) for kiyoung, who also goes kinda crazy without hyunsung like his total meltdown in chapter 873/874. quote from the novel:
I keep thinking of him.
“Fuck…”
I keep thinking of him.
“Hic… fuck… fuuuck…”
I crawl, collapsing where he was.
I try to grab something, but nothing’s there. I grip the ground.

there were some hate comments in the novel saying it "became a bl" or that it was a "bl ending", i chose this part to quote because it was the most spoiler-less one. there's also one part hyunsung thinks:

i liked this part a lot (bigger spoilers but not really), hyunsung also puts kiyoung first multiple times even wanting to ditch the continent (and sometimes even destroy it) for him, he also confines kiyoung for a while in a room you could call a gilded cage and kept gifting him stuff. reminds me of these obsessive love interests lol. also, their souls are literally connected and they share sensations, thoughts, emotions and memories. thats so....,,,,
Lol honestly I was saying it's the type that I don't feel bad for mc's plan to fail cuz 99% was bcz he pretty much ruin other person's life for his own convenience. And we'll his harem, well girls kinda annoys me a bit cuz they kinda idk, UwU type with kiyoung? And I probably got tired a bit of yandere troupe. The elf girl was so naive. I mentioned the regressor guy the most likable one out of his "harem" but he did started to get "corrupted" by kiyoung so idk anymore my favourite guy from this atp probably the meety buff guy he seems chill ig. Well the most favourite is kiyoung himself but probably not "likable" type tho lol. Once they got corrupted by mc they started to become somewhat annoying to me
ohhh i got it now. honestly after a certain point even deokgu becomes kinda annoying because he constantly interrupts the plot (i'm not sure if it happened in the manhwa as much) but i still like him a lot T-T but yeah i also disliked how invasive they become after they get corrupted, specially hayan cuz she is always such a landmine :/ i just can't like with these menhera characters. specially after the... visitor log... (everyone moved on from this but it pmo sm) i think hyunsung is still my fav because they become kind of codependent while i feel that he is just toying with the girls
