It is their anniversary he even set up a whole celebration w the decorations and the teddy bear
I think it's the idea of celebrating the night until it becomes their anniversary day. Kinda like how we celebrate Christmas Eve and New Years Eve I guess. He was already scared of the possibility of Hyunsoo forgetting their actual anniversary day/ Hyunsoo not caring enough and not liking him enough, so him being out on a company dinner, hours before the clock hits 12am of THE day, probably just reinforced his fear that the anniversary wasn’t important to Hyunsoo or that he wasn’t important enough to him

This is the night before their anniversary, right? Or am I missing something? Why's it so devastating that Hyunsoo is busy the night before their anniversary? It's not like he's missing the day of & they're working adults with responsibilities? A bit silly to do all this but everyone's different I suppose. Just communicate to your partner that the evening before your anniversary is important to you too. He's probably just focusing on the anniversary itself.
