He will change, Ruth will escape and he will let him go and not allow word to go out so that Ruth won't be killed since he was his concubine, running away meant death.
He then went after Ruth and Thank God, if it wasn't for him Ruth would be dead because Ruth's friend that helped him escape had assassin's after him and they were caught by the assassins but crown Prince showed up and saved Ruth, after that Ruth returned with him and they were madly in love with each other.
BUT before that a lot of angst will happen.
He kinda will, but mostly just mentally, with a little bit of physical stuff. But it’s still a bunch of chapters away. Just a heads up: the next chapters are gonna be super hard to watch because our precious Ruth has to deal with the top's extreme obsession and lunacy, which gets really intense and kinda unnecessary, as the story keeps dragging thanks to both characters' reluctance to confess their feelings and their not-so-bright assumptions about each other's feelings and thoughts. I was just rolling my eyes nonstop at what Ruth had to go through with all the overly complicated thought processes of both of them.
