Honestly, Baek and Hyun were doing great and were stable until the old friend popped up and shared his breakup story. I feel like this was a trigger for Baek because he is beginning to dissolving into mental and emotional chaos, and this has lead to insecure behavior and regressing into childhood behaviors and fears in the past.
I feel like it's the same with Asian birthdays like they wait till midnight and say happy birthday or maybe I am wrong
Asian as in throughout the continent of Asia? Korea, Japan, China but also India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, and yet Russia, Indonesia, Thailand. Also, Iran, Iraq, Turkey, Palestine? Damn, all of them? I don't think waiting till midnight of any festivity is unique to any culture, yeah? Still, it doesn't matter here cuz something entirely different is being discussed. One thing to wish someone, another thing to spend the entire evening before the day of celebration with someone despite no notice beforehand.

Youngchan probably should have told Hyunsoo that he wants to spend the evening before their anniversary together. Their anniversary is on Saturday, which is the next day so Hyunsoo probably thought they'd have the whole day to themselves. This is on Youngchan overthinking & not confiding in Hyunsoo at all. I hate saying this for stories but communication is key lol. Hope he opens up about his childhood fears about his dad & how he's afraid of becoming like him, and about that disastrous dinner with their friend. Hyunsoo can't read his mind so he has no idea what is going on rn.
