This is a great thing to point out, the connection with Jinwoo memories can be faltering with what actually happened, we do know for a fact that Guwon has yet to lie, so can be true that he didn't actually kill his father, but it's too soon to tell. Every time Jinwoo tries to remember anything about his pass, he gets violent and I have no way to tie that into the reason why he lost his memories to begin with.
So in chp24, we see Jinwoo recalling the day he first met Guwon. I went back to re-read the prologue and chp1 and somethings just ain’t adding up. In the prologue, Jinwoo sees Guwon saving him from a burglar. But in chp24, Jinwoo remembers the day they met and now sees it as Guwon killing his dad. Now, it could be a case of him mixing up the order of events. In chp24, Jinwoo’s dad tells him that he took longer to return because he was running away from some burglars and we see a glimpse of him fighting them off. So the order of events could be that Jinwoo’s dad stole water from a group of guys (who might even have been the Hounds), returns home, fights off burglars, then is killed by Guwon and Jinwoo had those memories overlap and only saw it as Guwon saving him. But something still doesn’t seem right. For one thing, we don’t ever see the face of the corpse in the room with Jinwoo, not in the prologue/chp 1 nor in chp24. And more importantly, in chp1, we see Jinwoo’s family photo. While his mom’s face is mostly obscured, his dad’s face was completely shot out. So how does Guwon know who Jinwoo’s dad is and what he looks like? In fact, if the order of events is correct, when Jinwoo’s dad returns, he doesn’t call him son. He just refers to him as Jinwoo. And Jinwoo can barely talk, so he doesn’t call him dad either. So if Guwon was present, he has no idea that that’s his dad. Something seems odd about his dad as well. In chp24, we see the following sequence of events: 1) Jinwoo’s dad hits someone. 2) Jinwoo is on the floor bleeding. 3) Jinwoo’s dad bandages him. 4) Jinwoo says he’s thirsty. At first glance, it appears that his dad saved him from some people. But something still seems a bit off. I have a few theories about this.
1) The dead body we see in the prologue/chp1 and that Jinwoo is holding in chp24 isn’t his dad, but the person his dad killed. But if that’s the case, then where is Jinwoo’s dad?
2) Jinwoo’s dad doesn’t hit someone random person, but hits Jinwoo, causing the injury to his head. Why would he do that? Not sure. Maybe it was in a fit of delirium. Alternatively, notice that the guys running away in that panel are really afraid of something. They say “h-he’s not alone.” At first I thought they were talking about Jinwoo’s dad, but what if they were talking about someone else? What if they were talking about Jinwoo? What if something’s not right with Jinwoo? As in, what if he has this virus that’s causing people to become zombies or something of that nature? What if the dead body we see on the floor was actually a person Jinwoo viciously murdered? What if Jinwoo is like (or straight up is) one of The Hounds? Or a failed version of one? If so, then what if his dad hit him out of self defense? What if someone came to rob them while Jinwoo’s dad was gone so Jinwoo flipped out and killed one of the robbers. Then his dad returns and attacks him in fear while the other guys run away. And as a way to protect himself mentally, Jinwoo’s mind has locked away or misremembered the events leading up to meeting Guwon. That would explain why in chp2, he wakes up with the knife in his hand and no memory of attacking Guwon. It’s likely that he’s done similar things before and simply has no memory of attacking others. But the question remains, why?
