The author got fed up with illegal sites having her work and decided to say that being poor isn't an excuse not to buy her work from legal sites and decided to tell those who read it illegally to "kys" or that they should die.
But a lot of people that read these works illegally, buy the physical book when it's available because it's already translated in there language and they can have it forever, unlike some legal sites, where you buy it for a high price and you have it just for a while. Not to mention that a lot of these works on ilegal sites advertise and popularize the work via other social media and fan arts making people buy some of the chapters or at least interact with the author for them to gain suport.
