Okay, wow. This bullshit of a story keeps getting worse and worse. The ML is a fat red flag, water is wet, but there was a *slight* spark of believable redemption as he was young and traumatized, and actually opened up because he loved the MC. There were little hints of layers and depth here and there, but sadly, it turned into the oh so shallow, predictable 'hurt ML hurts the MC' trope, and the fact the author had the audacity to fully illustrate the rape scenes, but not show the tender, loving moments in detail between the main characters is... A choice
Truly, the only positive thing here is how the MC is written. It's believable, it has actual depth and consistency, it's also very relatable. His reactions, his thoughts, fears, and complexes - very well done. A shame the ML was butchered and made into a raging man child rapist simply because the MC had a mental breakdown. He could have accepted the MC's rejection and bettered himself. He could've went - let's end the generational violence. Let's not be who my parents were. But no, of course he had to go absolute rapist crazy mode, and for what? Because he denies his own feelings of hurt and disappointment? Because of his pride? The worst part is, he *was* able to set his pride aside. That's what I liked about the ML at the beginning, despite being violent and creepy - he understood what love is about. Setting aside pride and everything just to be able to get close to the person you like.
All down the drain. I'm continuing this story now with the feeling it's going to get worse cause a) a character not deserving of redemption WILL get redemption or b) the ML will get worse and worse, until the MC is gaslit to believe it's fine and fall for him Stockholm syndrome style
