I just wanted clarification, that’s all. There’s no point in making an unnecessary comment without giving me any explanation when I’m asking a genuine question.
Because from what I’m seeing you’re saying that “we’re not affecting their livelihood, sites like Newt are”. But if theres a buyer, theres going to be a seller. And if theres a free option, why would people want to buy it? I think that is what’s making her frustrated. She’s seeing all of these views on piracy websites and comparing it to the view/buy count on the official site and is seeing the extra view count on piracy sites as “lost revenue” that is going to the piracy mods. But you’re also right, even if she took it down on the piracy site, it’s not likely gonna make much change on her revenue.
Anyways I’m going off topic. The reason why I asked specifically, “What’s wrong w NEWT?” is because I’m wondering, why is it that out of all the piracy sites available, including
These korean webtoonists are so delulu… We’re not the ones affecting her livelihood, sites like NewT are. Most uploaders here actually buy the chapters with their own money. Honestly, none of us would’ve bought it if we couldn’t read it illegally, so nothing would’ve changed for the artist.
They’re being fed this nonsense by their publishers, blaming low wages on illegal readers.
As an artist myself, I understand her frustration( not her rudeness thou) but appreciation for any form of art should always come before its financial value.
If I had to choose between 10 legal readers and no illegal ones, or 10 legal readers and 1,000 illegal ones, I’d absolutely choose the latter.
Even if they can’t support me financially, they can still give me positive energy to keep me motivated.
