I think she doesn't want to give up on having black hair because she had black hair in her previous life; so she wants to be "more like her true self".
Of course that makes sense, but it was also told to her how bad of an idea it was and she still went through with it. She didnt have to make her whole identity be one that is super judged when she could've chosen any color.
