Is it obvious or a red herring?

I suspect the butler of locking her in there. He’s the “new npc” kinda has an obsessive side and legit said he wanted to. He’s either exactly the person who did it or a red herring meant to throw readers off…but it’s so smut heavy I’m not sure if the writer thought that hard on the plot.
