Did you skip over the part where there are groups of the people that attacked them camping on the border waiting for them to try and go back? They would literally have to fight their way back through dozens to hundreds of assailants.
Did the kidnapping get brushed off coz girl needs to go home omg. She stays there with no concern over her family back home. The dragging chaps honestly are annoying.
