Dude, BL has ALWAYS been like this. Killing Stalking was just the first one to become super popular and mainstream. And I guess executed in a way that made people like it a lot. But in the 80’s, 90’s, and early 2000’s, yaoi was extremely dark and toxic. And to make things worse, pedo stuff was considered the “main” BL’s (at least when I got into BL) mostly because there was barely anything else.
I agree with some of your points. And also hate the pedo stories. but the types of dark are different and their has been a recent shift in the vibes. Like in the old BL you mentioned their was at least a Sense that the mc and love interest liked each other or grew into it. In modern stories they, start in an awful situation and it just goes downhill. Not saying they're all like that. Of course theirs hundreds of stories written and drawn every day.

I remember when killing stalking came out it was cool because it was subversive. Now it seems all bl is just r*pe gore kidnapping murder. Like I've enjoyed a couple of them but many seem to just be cruel for the sake of it. Kinda weird most of them are writing by women who make bl relationships seem to be just physical violent and loveless.
