Honestly, really not fond of the art, but that's not what stopped me from reading this one any further than chapter 22. I just can't seem to understand why she didn't just kill the girl (the og female lead) in her cradle when she had the chance - if she was dead, she wouldn't be a problem. She was quite literally, not an issue at all, since she was some poor ass orphan child; sic the mercenary on her to remove the fear of death via execution.
Ig revenge so much more important? Then adopt and actually torture the girl in a never to be found dungeon. You're rich and influential and you couldn't even do that? Pathetic.
Romance with the ml just felt like a super cliche worse version of 'I Tamed My Ex-Husband's Mad Dog'. The entire plot of it actually feels like a shittier version of that manhwa - the whole getting revenge and then making the kid u took in the emperor and then becoming his empress by accident? The exact same, expect here, girlie-pop could literally crush the enemy but she doesn't for fuck's sake. So the kiddo can manipulate ppl around her, u got it ALL and u can't take that girl down when she's in a family with less influence than u???? Like, ruin the girl and then blame it on that trashy guy that's sponsoring her and then buy off all the mages with the promises of giving them a better life (which u are trying to fulfil anyways, but they don't know that, do they) so they don't show a projection of what really happened. It's that fucking obvious.
Don't make a setting of a character super rich, super powerful and intelligent if they can't make choices like that. Yeah it evil, but she wants revenge and executing after all that nonsense of taking the empire first sounds like such a pain and honestly, long winded. Istfg, if any of y'all end up in the same situation as this mc, don't do what she's doing, be evil like how I'm suggesting - it's way faster.

Also, a bit weird how ml is so so much younger than her (title for this should be 'raising my future husband' like a previous commentor said)

I shall conclude, be a Roxanna (from 'The Way to Protect the Female Lead's Older Brother'), not whatever-this-person's-name-is. Roxanna's plan took a while to work bc her enemy actually had power, that bitch didn't so why the struggle, yanno?
