idk if u read far enough, but there is a cure. it's best if we simplify WHAT Art Disease is though.

Art Disease is basically a potentially lethal form of obsession due to sheer skill. But it's CURABLE as long as your art doesn't create godlike miracles (creating life, resurrection, anything interfering with another life) OR IF YOU NEVER CREATE ART AGAIN. However, the moment you perform a miracle (ESPECIALLY CREATING LIFE), you're gonna die within a decade of performing it.

everyone cured of severe Art Disease was never recorded, since they just stopped creating art and lived fulfilled lives, and were thus NOT REMEMBERED as artists.

just makes Karina's case sadder. all she needed was even ONE DAY A YEAR for her family to put her first so that she'd not be terminally ill (/TДT)/

    SPOILERS GAAAAAHHHHH

So it's also "curable" or I should say tolerable or benign instead if the Artist grows up experiencing love as a child, then the side effects of artists disease don't show up and they create freely without having to die, but because the god of art is a bitch who believes art comes from suffering, that doesn't happen often and instead the people with the gift of art are usually abused or neglected children like Karina
