I totally agree with you. It was VERY unnecessary for jiwon to create a lie about jungwoo having a girlfriend as if him being gay is a phase/joke. As much as I can understand jiwon's anxieties that doesn't take away from the fact that what jiwon said was a slap in the face. He could have easily said, "y'all need to stop interrogating jungwoo and respect jungwoo's privacy. If y'all don't want to eat I'm eating all the food." Anything besides creating a whole girlfriend. Just like jungwoo respects jiwon's not ready to come out of the closet, jiwon should respect that jungwoo happily came out. Giving nf about what people think. Luckily for him jungwoo is very understanding. Personally, I would have felt some kinda way about the lie but played it off for now. But now it's forcing a person to keep up a lie or figure it out.
And before someone try to use the jiwon is doing it for jungwoo sake as a justification, I call partial bs. To the point of jiwon is more afraid for himself since he is so timid. Doing it for jungwoo is just an additional reason to stay in the closet. And before someone start wetting their panties saying it's all for jungwoo, go back and read jiwon's thoughts and what is really triggering his anxieties. He doesn't want to be the topic of public discussions getting all the unwanted stares & attention. Tra la la la la ヾ(❀╹◡╹)ノ~

Right?? It's a good thing that Jungwoo is a kind and understanding boyfriend. I have similar anxiety with Jiwon and firsthand experience of homophobia since about 90% of people here are homophobics, so I get where Jiwon is coming from. Like, no matter how accepting your friends, there's still /this/ fear. But it's also precisely why I'm disappointed with Jiwon's lie about Jungwoo have a gf.
First off, whether he realized it or not, he diverted all the attention from him to Jungwoo, forcing Jungwoo to be in the spotlight (which Jiwon himself hates) and keep up with the lie of imaginary gf (even went as far as joining the friends in asking about her age and all), and second, I know Jiwon doesn't mean it this way but it feels like a stab to the back when Jungwoo already came out and even mentally prepared himself to hold a press conference to come out publicly. Like other commenter said, even though Jiwon is concerned about Jungwoo's future, what he said makes him ironically inconsiderate.
And before someone jumped me for this, I'm not saying bcs i want Jiwon to come out or hate him. I don't even want them to break up, like damn, I hate break-up arc. It's just that Jiwon's lie really rubbed me the wrong way and all in all, it feels like he invalidated Jungwoo, his /partner/ by ignoring his wish to be himself, confidently, in front of their friends even though I know Jiwon doesn't mean it like that.
Idk how to best put it into words but if I were Jungwoo I'd feel offended. I understand Jiwon's fear, but Jungwoo also gets Jiwon isn't ready to tell their closest friends about their relationship, so I think lying about Jungwoo dating a girl is so unnecessary especially after he came out and confessed he was courting someone. Like maan, it'd feel worse hearing your partner denying your identity like that even tho you know they don't have any ill intentions
