What if Todd is an illusion he created? I mean, taking care of sheep ALONE for 1-2 months seems pretty isolating to me. Aren’t humans supposed to be social creatures? He just had his horse and the sheep to take care of, he himself said that before “Todd” appeared his routine was very monotonous and quite boring.
He created Todd to satisfy himself, to not be lonely. He’s there to satiate Dennis’ sexual and emotional needs.
