I just made a little “shady bitch” note in my brain because no character is purposeless in a well written story. Even that one random mage Eyra threatened in Deya(?) village after the avalanche was important since he helped save the caravan.

I knew smth about that mf was off when he left after playing no major role besides “solid dude, that one.” A Labyrinth mage going out of his way to visit an acquaintance (not even friend) in bumfuck nowhere and for what? Moral support? Plus, after he left Solath a mage casted an avalanche spell along the only route, which would damage anything that crossed it (either to or from the region) and ultimately be detrimental to Solath in some way.
Anyways, I called bullshit and it answered the phone. Knew that man was shady.
