I started this on a whim thee other day and inhaled it. every time I had to put it down I was counting down til I could pick it back up. diana is smart and strong-hearted but also a bit wicked. noah is.. evil (another understatement) but he minds his own business. they're wholly obsessed w each other and their interactions are so fun to watch. I like that this story isn't singular. it isn't just their love story. there's a lot going on in the shadows– dysfunctional family dynamics, power imbalances, and political tension that's foreshadowed from the beginning so that when the shoe finally falls it doesn't feel like thee author just dropped the bomb (lmaoo too soon?). I love this story so much that I'm sad I didn't find it sooner.
Completely agree. And I think the rating is a mixture of people not liking the art style and/or the very unique storyline plus tone. It certainly doesn't follow the usual formulas of this genre. The original "this is a novel" plot is pretty much forgotten already lmao
