stopping mid-binge at ch32 to say that, despite being 32 chapters in, the children's characters are barely developed. ian is like an afterthought; the duke just happened to send a letter, right as we were discussing the other children's futures. ig it's very simple writing & bad pacing. there'll prob be be a time jump in the next 10 chapters & while i'm thankful that i won't have to sit thru the childcare arc for 100 chapters, 40 is too fast
