it's not just hating, it's all politics, she believes that their retired general is better suited to become the next magus, basically invalidating what the current one said during the other chapter (she said that the youth must lead after her)
Augh i know but its still infuriating that they let their own biases cloud their own judgement. There couldve been numerous ways for her to leave the library such as convincing her with a different career path (not much occupations have been explored yet that doesnt relate to the library in the series other than hamna) instead of just bullying a child
