The main character gyuwon and the main lead hwayoung were having a solid relationship but then chuck, gyuwon’s ex partner from his merc days showed up and wrecked shit. Chuck wants his ex partner to join him on a big gig for drug dealing, he tries to convince him by different means but gyuwon doesn’t budge, because he wants to stay with hwayoung and he already quit being a merc. So chuck threatens to leak info about hwayoung to other organizations of the criminal underworld (which would put him in danger) so gyuwon breaks up with hwayoung and joins chuck unwillingly.
Relevant info: hwayoung’s new boss is a total masochist creep and he’s been trying to pressure hwayoung into domming him ever since he got hired. Obv ml didn’t want to, and he hated him. That’s why he takes it out on him at the end then quits his job.
Hwayoung’s “best” friend couldn’t decide if he was jealous of hwayoung or gyuwon so he tried to drive a wedge between their relationship in the past. Essentially he kept feeling confused initially wanted to sabotage gyuwon to have Hwayoung go back to hanging out with him or even become his dom. Then he started liking gyuwon. Anyways he’s was a dom and now he’s in his masochist phase. Not exactly a bad person tho. Just an idiot. Who wants to have what the MCs have, I guess.
In case you need a reminder, Hwayoung is the spoiled youngest son of a pretty rich gangster/ Korean yazuka family. His dad and brothers are super overprotective of him.
Gyuwon is an ex mercenary, turned personal body guard. Until chuck forced his hand by threatening him with hwayoung’s safety that is.
