I don’t think he’s shown anything but that he has feelings for her. I feel that he should have been up front about the situation that he did need the document but that the proposed marriage is being arranged by the emperor but he has feelings for you. The comments you made made me almost not want to finish the story because it sounds like he was only trying to seduce her for the documents and is a gaslighting manipulative man when he honestly does have feelings for her just he’s in a complicated situation and failed to communicate properly.But I don't think its wrong of him to be upset that she didn't believe him. Because she just heard rumors from the palace and didn't even ask him if they were true just believed them. They just need to communicate. He needs to tell her his situation and if she likes him she needs to say so or get over him and set boundaries but to state them.
