It’s not easy to explain Oscar. Since the author wrote the characters like real people, Oscar is complicated. However, I will try to explain what I know about his intentions.

1. In this timeline, he wants Ines as his official mistress who will bear his child. This is the only option he has since Ines was successfully able to marry Carcel.
2. Oscar feels like he has an advantage since he is Carcel’s cousin and Ines is already under the Escalante family. He feels like if he makes Ines a widow, he has easier access to her since she will be under his maternal family’s authority instead of under Valeztena’s authority. However, he is mistaken because both Escalante and Valeztena would never allow Ines to be Oscar’s mistress even if Carcel is dead.
3. He doesn’t want to ruin her. He actually thinks he loves her. His biggest fear is Ines dying or killing herself again. That’s why he has been patient all these years and slithering in the background like a snake ready to pounce. He actually thinks it’s Dante and Alicia’s fault why he treated Ines terribly when he was married to her. He blames everything and everyone but himself for the way he treated Ines. He even goes as far as saying he wasn’t his perfect self but he’s changed since then.
4. Ines thinks Oscar went crazy after she blew her brains out in front of him. Maybe she has a point since he said he kept seeing the image of her blowing out her brains in his nightmares every night. It’s like he only realized afterwards that he supposedly loved her.

SPOILERRRR, PLS answer me ╥﹏╥
I don't understand why Oscar chose to marry Ines in her 2nd life. Like if he remembers Ines' first life (married to Carcel), what was his reason??? And then he made Ines literally kill herself twice with how badly he treated her while married to him??? Like what the fuck is wrong with him? Carcel and Ines both don't remember their first life so did he kill himself??? I really hate him.

He has his reasons. See below for spoilers:

1. Revenge: Luciano deposed him in the first timeline and had him publicly executed. He was enraged and wanted to avenge himself on Luciano by destroying his beloved sister.
2. Ines is the top ranking girl and he thinks he should have the best.
3. He twistedly avenged himself on Ines and Carcel since Ines rejected him and married Carcel instead. Carcel was very protective of Ines in the first timeline. Carcel even ran after Oscar with a gun and ended up killing Oscar’s guard in a legitimate duel.
4. Revenge on Ines’s father who didn’t like him in the first timeline.

Thanks for your answer!!! This is the first time I can say I truly hate a character so much... but also I blame the gods they have. Like what fucked up system is that omg, literally ppl are getting caught in the cross fire. Why does Ines needs to rmb her life after her first suicide?? Technically this is not her timeline/ it's a parallel universe created by Oscar wishing to remember his life. Damnn I'm jsut fuckkkkk(╯°Д °)╯╧╧
can sumn pls explain what this obsessed fucker intends to do in the current timeline? does it want to marry ines by making her a widow or keep her as a mistress to ruin her again? this mf thinks of ines highly but also cheaply at the same damn time wtf
