im aware?? he was a total piece of shit and did horrendous things, i never implied anything otherwise. he's being a good partner, a good dad, a good son. i meant appreciation for those aspects that his character improved on. this is a personal opinion, but i like to see the repenting being seen as more than just groveling

Even Taeju himself did not for one second forget what he did. Which is why he ran way in the first place, only for Euihyun to drag him back. If Euihyun insists on letting it go, I wonder why you’re still holding on to it.
He is clearly spending the rest of his life atoning for what he did in the past so why do you still insist on hanging it around his neck when you’re not Euihyun? You’re only cheapening everything that happened if you do it this way.
Euihyun couldn’t have chosen someone better and he is very happy with him. LET.IT.GO.ALREADY!

I read what you typed; both comments, hence my response. It’s funny you are this offended as well. First off, you claim I am not Euihyun and you’re absolutely right. That is why I am not taking painkillers for his own headache and have chosen to see things from his side. Guess what? You are not Euihyun as well, so do well to remember that!
You say I am cheapening everything but what you are doing is just throwing my own words back at me because you’re too lazy to come up with your own. If you don’t want people to respond to your comment, why did you respond to someone else’s? Can’t take what you dish out?
Lastly, what you’re doing it trying to drag us back to the past which I still say is not good for Euihyun. Taeju literally accepts the fact that he was an assaulted and a rapist in the past and choose to run away and remove himself from Euihyun’s life and also give him everything he possesses as a form of atonement.
If took Euihyun’s intervention for him to even start forgiving himself and he swore to make up for his past crimes with the rest of his life; which is exactly what he is doing, so how exactly are you acting like you care for Euihyun more than Euihyun cares for himself? He made his choice; deal with it.
For the first time ever, we have a story where the issues of rape and sexual assault are not just overlooked by even the perpetrator himself and he is actively working hard everyday to make sure Euihyun doesn’t look back on the past but you want to hang it over his head like a fucking necklace. Geez!

The sexual assault and rape weren’t overlooked??? Yes, Taeju left Euihyun—especially after realizing what he had done and the fact that they lost a life because of their past. But you’re saying that is proof the issue wasn’t overlooked? Him leaving is what makes it okay?
And as for you saying Euihyun was the one who chose him or he chooses to let go of the past smtg like that—well, obviously. When someone has been at their lowest, they’ll naturally cling to the only person who showed them care, especially when that person seems to be taking away their deepest fears. Even if that person was the one who hurt them, the comfort can feel like salvation.
My comment wasn’t even an attack on Taeju. I just stated a fact. If you actually read it with an open mind, you’d see that what Euihyun is giving Taeju now is already more than enough, considering what he went through in the past.
Why are you making this so difficult? Can you, just once, try to read and understand someone else’s perspective without immediately getting defensive? I understood your comment, but why are you so offended just because someone doesn’t agree with you?
I am my own person. You don’t get to decide for me whether or not I should accept Taeju—especially since, as you said, I’m not Euihyun.
And my comment is cheapening everything? If anything, it adds more depth to the story by offering another perspective—one that challenges the tendency to glorify character development when, in fact, accountability and development should be the bare minimum.
i just wanna see taeju being appreciated just a lil more... :(
