I know why he needs to stay neutral and all that but he needs to relay it to her. If he just ends the conversation with "I won't dethrone her", it makes it seem like he still cares about Diana. He needs to properly convey the fact that his world revolves around Hess now, and that Diana is so insignificant to him now. He needs to say it. Cuz she spent her everything onto removing Diana from his life and yet he acts like it doesn't matter at all. It's like you gift someone a very precious gold liquid but they pour it into an abyss wasting all your effort.
