I tend to be very forgiving of historical BL simply because there's so few of them. Even more so for reincarnation since that's my favorite genre. BUT this was ass. This is so bad I wish I had paid for it so I can ask for a refund. The art is the only thing it has going for it. The plot is horrible, the story and timeline inconsistencies are head-splitting, there is absolutely 0 chemistry between the leads, and the MC is the most wishy-washy character in the world for all the truly dark crap that happens to him. I kept reading only because I wanted to see him meet his brother again and find out the truth and even that was taken from me because it just never happens. All the plotlines established early on are abandoned in favor of awkward sex and uncomfortable stiff attempts at closeness between the two MCs that are predicated solely on MC conveniently forgetting that ML kidnapped him, repeatedly raped him, incarcerated him, tortured him and BRANDED HIM AS A SEX SLAVE (And this is from someone who LOVES Erha, so you know I'm not squeamish with my dark themes in YAOI.) And all of this goes out the window and it is never addressed. EVER. Suddenly MC is all for helping and returning to the person he was so eager to escape he was willing to die trying. This is so clearly a case of a story not being popular enough that it forced the author to cancel and wrap up ahead of time, but if so, I which they have chosen the realistic route and have MC go back to his original country rather than return to ML, because honestly, this blows.
