It’s actually quite scary too. How desensitized people get over actual issues and start throwing terminology at everything. Over time the actual behaviour gets normalised instead of rejected.

Yep! I just had to correct someone who thought a 3 year age gap when they are both kids is creepy… it’s a historical which means she could have been sold to the duke or the dukes dad as a child bride and no one would have batted an eye about it. THAT is not what’s happening in this story so clearly that’s not the issue. Besides, majority of all couples have an age gap of up to 6 years between them. 2-4 is the average age gap between partners. It’s like people learnt a new word and can’t wait to try it out EVERYWHERE.

There is no grooming by the MC either. I can see you don't know the definition of that as well. Grooming is a predatory tactic used to establish a relationship and gain trust with a person, typically a child or young adult (though adults can also be targets).
