Umm he has no magic and lives next to an ominous land that breeds monsters. He kills people at midnight regularly and the king is trying to keep him in check. Ngl they would be better off leaving him. I would be worried for any family member going to his house for a week let alone indefinitely. But I get why he is worried she almost got kidnapped because he is surrounded by enemies.
Her brother is seriously irritating. Dude, you are a grown man and she's a grown woman. Is she supposed to take care of you for your entire life? You both can find happiness without being tied to each other forever.
