There's like 40+ chapters but I stopped reading because Elise just keeps being written in at the worst god damn times. I feel like it somehow turns into Lily of the Valley but not as egregious or infuriating...

I know what you mean, the chapter where Margot engaged Elise for sex was so unnecessary. Especially after she clearly knows that Peggy loves her and asked her to not sleep with Elise again. But now, cos she horny she just did it like fuck all.
It's so dumb, Peggy is busting her ass off to save her and she betrays her trust just like that...
I thought the story, pacing, and tension was fine without Elise being shoehorned in. This is only exacerbated by how fucking awful the ending is... Peggy deserves better. T-T
