Nobody said non-writers can't share opinion, I was just asking. I just started getting into writing, but I know it's the way the story is meant to be written, therefore it IS a good story, the plot, the characters, and the process of their development from their trauma and whatnot. Well, I agree on one thing, the ending could be better, and I'm not calling this manwha a masterpiece cuz this is a traumatic manwha for some.
And you said "ppl don't know what a good story should be like" I was hoping you'd have some reason/evidence to back that, but you said you're NOT a writer so it's kinda valid but not so valid either. I'll apologize for my opinion if you provide with an explanation of how it is NOT a good story. Thankyew

Ok, 1st it looks like 2 diff authors wrote it, interesting and fun but mid way turns into a gangsters story and everything goes downhill...it really went from a possible fun and exciting story to an immoral and inhumane one with main characters losing their original charm.
2nd, dooshik's chara shift..his sudden personality change. He turns into an all powerful gangsta when it is stated at first how he hates to be like his father...then proceeds to gang r**e the twin as revenge?! Completely erasing the involvement of the mc in his own trauma management and possible revenge. Another down point, the twins incest. Plus off course the whole r**e and violence thru out the whole story. And lastly how pilwoon went from a simple ceo to a whole kingpin. I'm not even going to mention the whole amnesia part cuz that was just too over the top and senseless.
There are so many great manhwas out there, that's why it is sad to see how such an inconsistent and grotesque story like this one has a higher rating than actually deserving ones

Your first argument about how the story shifted as if two different authors wrote it. It's normal for a story to take a turn or shift towards a immoral and inhumane one as you said. And in the middle of season 1, Jooha's unfortunate circumstance of being able to cum pearls was already shown and Pilwon's creepy ass way of manipulating him should already be a sign or an indication that it's bound to turn dark and twisted. Reason how it looked like 'possible fun and exciting story' was because the deeper parts of the story and their backstories weren't revealed until much later.
Your second argument is Dooshik's character shift? The reason he's turned into an all powerful gangster was because he used to have a life like that way before he even came to meet Jooha at the clam restaurant, he just went to his old ways for him so he would be free from Pilwon's chains, which almost didn't work cuz they almost died.
I have no argument for you with Dooshik's decision of his revenge with the twins cuz i agree with you, that was really messed up and Pilwon is just one of those guys that you didn't expect to be such a really f*cked up person, but just as Pilwon's sudden shift from a CEO to a whole kinky asshole, it was because his backstory wasn't revealed yet, but now we know cuz the story progresses and turns and shifts so that it tells us about the characters and who they truly were. The amnesia part was also kind of unnecessary but we were able to see and understand their griefs.
There are many greats manwha's out there, but Pearl Boy is just as great, it really is grotesque and not for the fain-hearted or sensitive people but I wouldn't call it inconsistent because I feel like the moral of this story was about overcoming traumas, and the couple has definitely overcame theirs and love flourished between them despite what happened prior to their happy ending.
This was a horrible manhwa which became unbearable halfway...plus the sh**ty ending. How does this have 9.4 rating? Apparently ppl don't know what a good story should be like
