I think chapter 60 shows that he is brainwashed but still not a great person. Once he wanted to be but now bound or unbound he is trying to attack people.

There is no spoilers from novel reader which makes me curious even more, but there's a spoiler about why the characters act different from ogNovel, it's because the OGNovel narrative is in the leads perspective which makes them look like a good person but in reality they're trash, which in my opinion, OgML might not be brainwashed and he is already twisted cause I heard OgML spread rumours about ML because he hated him and he also spread rumours about FL so she can be dependent on him.
