
... it's so anticlimactic, but for some reason, his death was just perfect to the point it's ironic. For the first time in awhile, we see this man unafraid of death and sacrificing himself because he realized that losing Estelle again was worse than dying in itself. Also, you could say Estelle's indifference had sent him to his death. It wasn't that he went on fighting 10 vs 1, but the fact he had to fulfill Estelle's request that caused him to his end. He could've like all the times run away like a coward, but this time he didn't.
I'm not saying he always ran away during the war because I'm sure he didn't. He also had a type of pride, but he was always afraid of dying lol
I wanted him to die via estelles hands, not killed in battle.
Their relationship is tragic, him seeing her naivety and being their kings puppet, meanwhile hes not being vocal enough about their relationship and his political stance. He just followed her, and kept all his doubts inside. I understand him not wanting her to be used as a trading piece and killing her in battle, but thats also cowardice and such a big betrayal. What a jumbo mess of a situation.
