because the story is written quite poorly.. I think for me it mainly was the part about the blue eyes, bc it wasn't really clear if the descendant of the dokkaebi has blue eyes or the ones making a pact with them.
then there's all these kinda losely connected plot points which only lead to more questions than answers and once there are too many questions you tend to forget which plot point belonged where and which mystery was connected to what
so as best as I can explain it: the author is trying to put too many unresolved mysteries in there at once without giving a proper explanation when they give one
it's like things are happening, bit get glossed over so quickly you forget they happened.. and when they come up again, you can't remember them fully
I think a good example is the "losing track of time" thing. forgot their names, so it's MC and Blacky. MC never had any issues with memory loss in the beginning, or when Blacky said he had some, he wasn't like "ooh I have some too". only when he put the mask on, he was like "btw I have memory loss too lol". and then many chapters later they were in the hotel and MC was like "guess Blacky doesn't have memory loss anymore" without that being talked about in that story ANYWHERE. like.. how did he know that is mysteriously stopped? I low-key even forgot hat memory loss and the heat thing we're even a thing bc it was mentioned for one panel and then never again
it's just missing the red thread and some proper explanations

I read it all in one go.
still doesn't the fact that that's how it is.. it's alright if you have no issues with it, but I explained the reason why this story is so hard to follow and thus confusing (at least for me)
so yeah, can't speak for other people, but the fact that the writing and pacing of the Story is off still stands

to add to my previous comment:
another plot point which doesn't make any sense is the whole thing with the fan.
MC went to the fox to get the mask looked at, so fine so far. then suddenly fox is like "hey, you owe me money!!" and money is all he goes on about. so here's where this whole thing doesn't make any sense:
1) if he actually cared about the money, he would have remembered that he didn't get paid for 12 months and it would have made more sense for him to go visit grandpa to get his money, unless he can't leave the area.
which leads us to 2) if he can't leave the area, and grandpa wanted them to meet (as what seems to be the case according to Fox) why did he buy the fan? if Grandpa had some sort of future sight, there would have been no need to buy the fan, as the mask would have been the thing that lead him to Fox. if he didn't have Future sight, how did he know that MC will go to Fox bc of the mask? bc if he didn't go to him, he would never have figured out that the fan was bought for a high amount of money and it would have been a regular piece of trash (hence no need to go to Fox because of the fan)
so - the ONLY reason to go to Fox was bc of the mask. buying that fan made no difference AT ALL. there was no reason. if Grandpa knew about the mask and that MC would go to Fox to ask about it bc of his memory loss, no need to buy the fan bc he goes there anyways. of grandpa didn't know about the mask, why buy a fan MC didn't even know was bought from that shop for that kind of money.
and depending in whether fox can leave the mountain or not, it didn't make any sense for him to forget that he's owed money.
so yeah, that's a prime example of unnecessary plot points which lead to confusion and get woven into the story that doesn't make any sense at all (wdym fox when you say "so you bought the fan to lead me to him" - that couldn't have worked like this)
I don't understand why you guys are confused
me want more chapters
