I said this on a later comment and will comment it again to answer your question, based in my personal opinion:
Doesn't excuse his shitty ass behavior as an adult. Treating an innocent man like Dan like complete garbage and everyone around him like objects is uncalled for. He hasn't seen Dan as person up until chapter 70. I think what would have raised my 1 start to at least a 3 is if we've learned from JK a little more and had him be somewhat nicer.
If the old man had come into the picture when JK visit Dan's grandma back in S1 and at least started to be nicer to Dan despite his ego... It would have definitely been great.
Kinda like Jaeshin from Ghost Nocturne. We learned about his passed early on, and by the end of S1 chapters 24, he had already started seeing Lee Nok as a respectable person, not a object for his own pleasure. Jaeshin fucked up and despite his pride, he was already coming up ways to apologize to Lee Nok; he even got him a flower as an apology.
But nooooo JK has just treated Kim Dan like garbage. Even in chapter 69, he threw Dan and sprayed water on him a day AFTER Dan realized he had an alcohol problem. Dan should have been put in rehab... He should have not be left alone where he can relapse super easy. It's not night and day where someone remains sober, at least not for the majority of the people. They need support more than anything.
I hate that JK didn't see Dan as a valuable individual up until now. He still wanted him for sex and sex only up until recently, thinking that's all Dan is good for. "( – ⌓ – )
Sure, be may have developed feelings for him and at least started questioning... But that still doesn't make sense how he didn't even treat him better. It dragged on WAY too long with him having a horrible temple and almost 0.1% character development.
This story had potential but the author didn't take it.

Not to mention Dan... Dan is weak and he has hardly any likeable characteristics. He's plain and boring. It would have been nice if he had some sort of glow up. Drowning in self pity is, to me, a disappointment. If he had better self value and at least realized that he's a victim and doesn't deserve that treatment better, is unfortunate.
He left because he felt bad, not because he didn't want to be treated like garbage. Sure, he told JK around the lines of, "what? Aren't you satisfied? I'm just a toy to you."
If Dan had expressed that even in his thoughts more and had expressed more a bit of anger to himself or around the lines of: "you know what? I'm better than that. He doesn't deserve me. I made a mistake, but how he treated me was uncalled for."
Drowning in alcohol is kinda lame. In BJ Alex, the bottom at least had that idea of a little self worth. Dan has a job. His grandmother is still alive. He's a free man and no longer gets treated poorly... Yet he got so depressed because his trauma, that he turned to alcohol. To me... That's meh.

Thank you, I agree with all your statements, and if I had listed them out we definitely would have had correlation with that fact that jk has had zero character development, and this whole alcohol and Depressed is sad to say is not a very creative direction for Dan. And this story is stretching out a very tropey and not very interesting storyline out. I think for younger audiences who just joined the bl community this is fine, but I’m an old soul lady, I’ve been around since like 2014, so I just had higher expectations of mingwa, cause I really liked bj Alex. AND thank you for your response. (⌒▽⌒)
As someone who read bj Alex and was there week to week, and read jinx since chapter 1, I’m astonished at how much I forgot this story existed, and was only reminded through update, I don’t know if the quality went up in other stories or the story of jinx is just not good or isn’t good yet. But I cannot believe I forgot about it, which makes me sad I devoted a lot of time to this story, hopefully it improves.
