I believe the emperor wanted to marry HER and she couldn't exactly refuse/ she saw him as a little brother since she cared for him since he was young. Also I'm pretty sure the emperors mother rlly liked her too?? I think they explained it quite some chapters ago but i dont remember when exactly. Lyn feels betrayed by the empress but not cause she has feelings for the emperor, its cause shes kind of obsessed with the empress
