For real. Critical engagement with the story is an anathema to BL readership. They read the whole story projecting on the uke and judge the seme with completely different standards from the uke. They don't know the difference between judging the character due of relatability and judging a character because of their own character traits. The snap judgment, the binary thinking, the super low emotional intelligence is rampant. Any they are so shameless and entitled about it too. I don't know how many of these readers are minors but seriously, their horrendous reading comprehension gives way to many other problematic elements, like inherent misogyny and mindless hate. And most of these readers are women, go figure.
People literally rate stories because the cover looks pretty. Two chapters out and yet it's given five stars. Even average Reading comprehension is hard to come by in this genre.
